Windsurfing: Hayling Island Wind Direction: sw ish Wind Stength: 4 - 5bft Surf / Sea State: flat ish, chop confused swell Air Temperature: 13c Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered:
LWA racers at Brog today so rather than struggle to get past all their kit
dumped on the foreshore I heading to Hayling for the day with omwc.
Day didn't start that well was about halfway there when I realised I had
forgotten my towel, no worries I thought Tescos where I planned to get some
breakfast is sure to have some and they did, hand towels about the size of
a flannel but better than no towel at all!
Arrived at the beach bit chilly and gloomy not much wind had a chat went
for a hot chocolate.
About 11 ish the sun came out and the wind picked up a bit not a great
amount but enough for a puddle sailor with a 150 lt board and an 8.5
sail.
I was fully powered up on the 8.5 for the whole day very overpowered at
times
Out the back there was a bit of swell nothing huge but bouncy enough on a
150 lt board had great fun gybeing on the top of the swell then coming down
the face of the swell, not sure if its cheating but loads of planning
gybes!
The wind picked up a bit more towards the end of the day and as the tide
came back over the sand bar things just got a bit too windy and bouncy for
the 8.5 and big board eveyone else was on 6.5s or less but it was a bit
too late in the day for changing down
Great day 4 stars sailed in sun shine all day a bit more wind and it would
of been 5
